Mexican avocado supplies have tightened as of late bringing support to the avocado markets. U.S. avocado imports from the country last week fell 28% and were 17% less than the same week last year. The avocado markets could remain erratic during the next few weeks but the recent decline in the value of the Mexican peso may temper any further price increases. Iceberg lettuce supplies have been subpar as of late as well with shipments last week down 15% from the previous year. Lettuce supplies are expected to remain limited in the near term which should be supportive of the markets.
