Two generations, one warehouse, a hundred-mile radius
Manion Foods is a full-line foodservice distributor in Superior, Wisconsin. We started by filling a gap two local distributors left behind, and we’re still family owned thirty-five years later.
A gap in the market, in May of 1991
The company opened as Northern Central Supply — a restaurant and bar supply business. Then a couple of local food distributors closed their doors, and the gap they left went unfilled.
We filled that gap. The name changed to Manion Foods in 1996, and the operation grew from a supply company into a full-line distributor now running more than fifteen routes a week across the Northland.
Service worth staying for
We serve roughly a hundred-mile radius from Superior — far enough to reach the Iron Range and the Bayfield peninsula, close enough that a rep can actually come out and stand in your kitchen.
The goal has never been to be the biggest truck on the road. It’s to build accounts that last decades rather than quarters, and to help the kitchens we supply run at a profit. A restaurant that closes is not a customer we kept.
Still a family business, and not by accident
Two generations of Manions work here. Jim and Sue lead the company. Marty runs a sales route and buys. Dan works on the technology and the processes behind the scenes.
